Last updated: 8 October 2026 — applicable in France and Switzerland

This is a translation. The French version is legally binding: sanoria.app/cgu.

These terms govern the use of the Sanoria app. Installing or using Sanoria means you accept them. They are written in plain words: if anything is unclear, write to us and we'll rephrase it.

1. Publisher

Chloé De Azevedo Mendes
Sole trader (French micro-entreprise) — SIREN 900 081 506

Publication director: Chloé De Azevedo Mendes

The website is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. (Cloudflare Pages). The app has no online account and does not sync your data. Only shares between friends, encrypted on your iPhone, pass through a relay hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. (database in Western Europe), which cannot read them.

2. What Sanoria is — and what it is not

Sanoria is not a medical device, neither under Regulation (EU) 2017/745 nor under the Swiss Medical Devices Ordinance (MedDO, SR 812.213). It is a wellbeing and nutrition education app. It makes no diagnosis, prescribes no treatment or dose, and does not replace the advice of a health professional.

Nutritional guidelines, scores, meal plans and tips are estimates built from public references (ANSES, EFSA, WHO, the Ciqual 2020 and 2025 tables) and the information you enter. The same applies to blood tests: Sanoria stores them, compares them with usual ranges and adapts its food suggestions — it does not interpret them in place of your doctor.

If you have an illness, are pregnant, are on treatment or have symptoms, ask a health professional before following a recommendation from the app. In a life-threatening emergency, call 15 (SAMU) or 112 in France, 144 or 112 in Switzerland.

3. Who can use Sanoria

Sanoria is for people aged 16 and over. It is not designed for children and calculates no calorie deficit before age 18.

If your relationship with food or your body is causing you distress, counting can make things worse: talk to a professional, or call a helpline — Anorexie Boulimie Info Écoute on 09 69 325 900 in France, La Main Tendue on 143 in Switzerland. Free and anonymous in both cases.

4. Account

The account you can create in Sanoria is local to your phone: it protects access to the app, it does not bring your data to another device, and nothing is hosted by us. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential, and since we hold no copy of it, we cannot reset it for you. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the app (Profile → Legal & privacy), without writing to us.

5. Sanoria Premium subscription

Scanning a product, your personal score and every safety alert (allergens, pregnancy, dangerous products) stay free. The Premium subscription unlocks comfort features, never a safety warning.

6. Personal data

The details (which data, why, for how long, your rights) are in the privacy policy, which forms an integral part of these terms. Health data is sent to no server: it stays on your device. Only the meals and recipes you choose to share with a friend go through a relay, encrypted on your iPhone: we cannot read them. Data read from Apple Health also stays on your iPhone.

Health data is sensitive data — under the GDPR (art. 9) as under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). In Sanoria it does not leave your device, except what you choose to share with a friend: encrypted on your iPhone, that content can only be read on theirs. Deleting your account from the app erases everything, permanently. Supervisory authority: the CNIL in France, the FDPIC in Switzerland.

6a. Insurance coverage — what Sanoria is not

Depending on the country, Sanoria points out schemes that exist: in France, reimbursement of gluten-free dietary products (LPPR label); in Switzerland, nutritional counselling covered by compulsory health insurance on medical prescription (KLV/OPAS art. 9b–9c), and the specific rules for coeliac disease (invalidity insurance allowance up to age 20, then tax deduction of medical costs depending on the canton).

This information is indicative. Sanoria is neither an insurer, nor an insurance intermediary, nor tax advice: it carries out no formalities, builds no file and guarantees no reimbursement. Only a doctor prescribes, only an insurer reimburses, only the tax authority accepts a deduction. The rules quoted may change before the app is updated.

7. Fair use

You agree not to: circumvent the app's or payment limits, extract its content on a large scale, decompile it except where the law allows, inject unlawful content, or use it to give medical advice to others.

Sharing with friends. You only share content you have the right to share, with people who accept it. Nothing insulting, threatening, misleading or unlawful. If a friend sends you content like this, use “Report and remove” in My friends, or write to [email protected]: we cannot read what was shared, so tell us what you received. We handle every report.

8. Intellectual property

The app, its interface, texts and brand belong to the publisher. You receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right of use. Product data comes from Open Food Facts, Open Beauty Facts and Open Products Facts, under the ODbL licence; nutritional references come from public publications (ANSES, EFSA, WHO), cited in the app.

The content you enter (diary, measurements, tests) remains yours. We claim no rights to it and do not use it to train any model.

9. Availability and changes

Sanoria is provided “as is”. The service may be interrupted for maintenance, or change: features may be added, modified or removed. If a paid feature were removed for good, we would let you know and the subscription would be adjusted.

10. Liability

Sanoria does not guarantee the complete accuracy of product data from open, collaborative databases, nor any health, weight or performance result. It cannot be held liable for a decision taken solely on the basis of the app without medical advice. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, in particular for bodily injury or gross negligence.

11. Suspension

An account used to harm the service or other people may be suspended, after notice except in an emergency. You can always retrieve your data (JSON export from the app) before deletion.

12. Changes to these terms

In case of a significant change, this page is updated, the date at the top changed and the information shown in the app. Continuing to use Sanoria means you accept them.

13. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by French law, as the publisher is established in France. This clause never deprives a consumer of the mandatory rules of their country of residence: a Swiss consumer keeps the benefit of mandatory Swiss law and may sue in the courts of their place of residence.

If there is a disagreement, write to us first: most are settled in one message. Otherwise, a European consumer may use a consumer mediator or the European online dispute resolution platform free of charge; a Swiss consumer may refer the matter to their canton's conciliation authority.
